Great if you to take in that Duckling...What a cutie...
Don't worry about its umbilical unless it looks red...Keep on dry bedding and soon it will fall off...If needed a bit of Rubbing alcohol and a Q-Tip will dry it up...Just like with human babies or anything with umbilical ....

Updates on my flock.
IMG_4332[1].JPG Cleaner (Female Pekin) the gimpy one is now 18 weeks. Still has the walking problem most likely for the niacin deficiency due to the store I bought them from. She still moves around, eats, drinks, swims & quacks. Bought her from Rural King they said she was 6 weeks old.
IMG_4333[1].JPG Pearl (Female Pekin) is also 18 weeks. Out of the first three I got from Rural King, she is the one that bounced back fully from the Niacin deficiency. They said she was 6 weeks old at purchase
IMG_4334[1].JPG Princess (Female Blue Swedish) is almost 14 weeks. Bought from a person on craigslist who hatches and sells. No problem with her at all. Stated was 2 weeks old at purchase.
IMG_4335[1].JPG William (Indian Runner Drake) is over a year. Bought from a lady who raises ducks with her daughter from hatching to older then sell. No problem with him at all.
IMG_4336[1].JPG Farkle (Blue Swedish with faults Drake) is also over a year old. Bought from the same lady as william. They were bonded and stayed together so got them both. No problems with him at all either.
IMG_4331[1].JPG Lucky (Muscovy Duckling) got when she was 4 days old. A person on here happened across this abandoned baby and tried to see what he could do to help her, tried getting her back with her mom and siblings but was being attacked. After reading stuff and seeing I was an hour away I went for the rescue. Lucky is now 15 days old. She is eating, drinking, peeping, bathroom and walking fine. Follows my daughters around and will cuddle on your shoulders. She is adventurous and has tried to dive off when she in my hand, thankfully I am quick to catch.

Well my story just took an unexpected turn. Either someone switched my ducks or two of my three females are now males. My Blue Swedish (Princess) now has some drake feathers which i never noticed. And my Female Pekin (Pearl) sounds more like a boy and has what is possibly a tiny drake feather coming in.. Not sure what to do now if it is true, 4 Drakes to 1 Female (already gimped)
