Not sure how this is going to work out , was hoping for eggs and to hatch some eggs. Bought a Jonoel 48. Dont want to hatch 48 eggs, but was hoping a few here and there. With only one female who already has medical issues, breeding might not work well with 4 boys. Only bought the other two drakes because all the ducks seemed female, no drake feathers and did not seem to have a low toad like noise.

If you can rehome a few drakes then bring in more females having a female with leg issues and 4 drakes will not go well with her as you already know. Or keep the female separated from the drakes. If you decided to keep the drakes then you'll need at least 3-4 females for each drake.

Wow this is going to be hard then, dont think i have enough room for that many ducks, plus going to be hard to rehome them with my 6 year old and 20 month old bonded to them. Will have to see what I can do, maybe adding 1 extra female might help a little?

Looking at some options. The side of the house i have them on i cant really expand much due to fire pit. The other side of the yard would be perfect once I can figure out where the sceptic tank is

Ok so these ducks are going to have me doing alot. So far my plan is to see if I can trade the two older males I bought and get females from. I replied to a craiglist ad about someone selling whats looks to be rouens and might be willing to trade, so texted them to see. I also did a post on here in the swap are and the Florida state post. Hopefully I can trade for some females 6 months or older. My next plan is to give away the pekin possibly to a person I know from work whose sister had a pekin drake but something happened. The house-fly problem which the flies are bothering my neighbors, i plan on trying to move my shed over 6 feet and then relocating the duck are to the other side of the shed which is opposite side of the yard. Side we dont traffic as much. Wish me luck with this all, hopefully it will work out.. So far not much of my duck story has gone according to plan lol.

So went to the place I got the one Blue Swedish from with no problems, and picked up two females. One a blue swedish and the other she called a Camo? Never heard of it, but it is a mallard/rouen colored. IMG_4371[1].JPG IMG_4370[1].JPG

Also found a home for three of the drakes. A person on craiglist is going to pick them up tomorrow for William (Indian Runner), Farkle (Swedish w/fault) and Pearl (Pekin) will be missed, but its for the best.

Hello everyone, sorry it has been along time since an update.. Holiday season seems busy. Cleaner (Female Pekin) roughly 6 months old, [bought from Rural King] is still lame but eats, drinks, hops in pool and does everything else like a duck would. She is just slower then the others and hobbles. Prince {formerly Princess} (Male Blue Swedish) roughly 4 months 3 weeks [bought from a breeder] is doing fine, no problems with him what so ever. Princess (Female Blue Swedish) Unknown age, possibly 6-8 months? [bought from breeder] is doing well, no issues. Mal (Female Mallard) Unknown age, possibly 6-8 months? [bought from breeder] is doing well, no issues. The three i bought from the same breeder so happy with how they are doing. Lucky (Juvenile Muscovy) 8 weeks old is the rescue duckling we got, hoping for a she, is not outside with the others, I have her separated in the smaller section to get her accustomed to the others. Growing well and no issues. I moved the duck house, however im not happy with it since i had to rebuild it. Plan on making bigger, hopefully one I can walk in since I am hitting my back every time I try to go in.
The only disappointment so far is no eggs, I see many people in the area, even the breeder I got the ducks from, they are still getting and hatching eggs. None of mine have laid a single one, was hoping for a Christmas hatch since I purchased an incubator.
