My duck was attacked by something idk what! Advice needed

Sorry I didn't reply earlier. I am happy to report that he is doing really well and healing quickly! He has been staying in the tub in the bathroom and although I can tell he is definitely lonely and misses his siblings I am relieved he is doing so well and that flies never had the chance to get to him.

I was able to trim a bit around the wound but I'll admit I was pretty nervous to do so and he was fighting me on it. However, the extent of where the wound is is visible now and has scabbed over completely. I have been cleansing with saline solution and then applying Microcyn and it's worked pretty good. I am also giving him fresh greens like kale and his favorite, peas, and he is eating like normal.

I called the closest vet to me that does ducks and I explained to them his condition and they felt it wasn't necessary for me to bring him in unless I start to see signs of an infection or his behavior changes. I will post some pictures later today!

Oh I also forgot to add, I bit the bullet on a coop which we will be putting together this weekend!

Okay so here’s what it looks like now. You can see how I was able to trim somewhat around the top but poor baby was flipping out half way through so I stopped. Although with both hands I was able to move the feathers a bit and see that’s pretty much where it ends and begins in the picture. It looks wet because I had just sprayed it with the microcyn but other than that it’s scabbing up pretty well. The only thing I’m concerned about now is the area that hasn’t scabbed yet. Maybe that was just the worst portion of the the injury? @Isaac 0 @BigBlueHen53
