Anything with weight that can be tied to a string can be used as a pendulum. I prefer stone or clay pendulums that are pointed on the end. Makes it easier to read, I think.

They have many applications..... and yes, you could use to sex live chicks.... however, the tricky thing about pendulums is that they are VERY sensitive to persuassion..... so, if you already expect the chick to be a pullet... it's going to read pullet. You have to really go into it with an unbiased mindset.

You could use an arrowhead, but it could be tricky getting it to balance and hang right.

I just use a simple sewing needle on thread. Works fine.

I have always thought the boys were the pendulum swinging back and forth in a straight line and the girls were a circle. That's how it worked for me anyway.

I used a gold ring on a gold chain. They say to use a horse tail or mane hair. I don't know what the significance of that would be. But the gold worked for me.

I even took the chain and ring to work and tried it on my co-workers. It worked every time, except for one woman, it wouldn't move. It kind of freaked her out.

Can't say as I blame her.

If you do it to chicks, be sure you have the chick off by itself, in a box or something. And don't hold it, or you could be reading your sex, not the chicks!

It's whatever you want it to be really. If you think back and forth is girls, then it's girls, if you think boys, then it's boys

It's an individual kind of thing. Like I said, they are easily influenced...... so if you already have it stuck in your head that one thing means one thing, then that's how it responds.

To cool, I am doing the oval/round eggs hens, pointed eggs roo. The lady I got my dorking eggs from said she has been using that for 2 years and she is 98% sucessfull getting hens from her eggs. She is not the only one I have heard this from so I am trying it. Let me know what is what oh ya I posted pics of my chicks from Julie on a different thread don't know if ya caught it or not. It is Under Designer chick pics if ya want to search. I know your eggs are from her. Happy Hatching vibes going your way.
