They look totally clear to me. No dark spots, no reddish areas, nothing. Maybe they were very early quitters, though and I just can't tell that.

I am very pleased, not disappointed at all! I've read that on shipped eggs to expect a 50% hatch as a general rule if the eggs are fertile. Considering the post office handling and the temp spike, and the fact that I think I can see 6 for sure and 8 probably, that's 50% and it's not even considering the olive ones. I seriously would have been thrilled with one or two this hatch. I mean, it's had it's share of "stresses". And I really want to get some more silkies from you. Since I know I am going to have one at the most of those, can I put my order in now? And while we are at it, do you have any frizzles you want to sell?

Forgot to say, no I didn't chunk the clear ones yet. I couldn't bring myself to do it yet. I am going to wait until day 14 just to be sure. Light goes straight through the entire egg, but I keep telling myself I could be wrong... If I don't see something on day 14 they are going out. The oozer is going out when I turn tonight. I am just feeling like that one may be a time bomb and I'd hate to have a mess.

What breed lays the olive colored eggs? I've never seen eggs so dark green and pretty!

They are EE's and I think they have some Maran mixed in to get it so dark. But Sonew will have to answer that to be sure. I just love colored eggs and hers are gorgeous. Hopefully she'll see this tomorrow and get you an answer.

Now I want some pink ones, too, but they seem to be hard to come by.

I have a hen that lays lavender eggs. I am not sure which one it is, but everyone agreed, they are lavender all right. (That's cool, said my daughter!)
