Hey Mahonri, I just remembered something. This fall I had TERRIBLE back spasms, completely debilitating and could not even put socks on by myself. I went to physical therapy for about six weeks and was on muscle relaxers, SOMA, anti-spasmodics, and none of it worked, PT made it worse and one day I was trying to take the weight off my back muscles by putting my right hand on my hip and pressing down, and right where your thumb lands, mid gluteus, right where you would give an IM injection, I found if I pressed my thumb inward right there it eased the lower back spasms almost instantly. I also had spasms up the right side of my back and thought, if there is one pressure point, there must be more. So I fished around and kept poking until I found that midline on the side of my rib cage, just above the last rib that sorta sticks out, if I pressed there, the lumbar-thoracic spasms quit, again, almost instantly. It was like I could turn off the spasms and that helped tremendously with the inflammation/spasm/pills/sleep/inflamation/spasms/pills/sleep cycle long enough for genuine healing to take place within a few days. By next MD appt. I was able to bend, touch my toes, (hiding some of the pain, but the week before I could not touch my knees) and pick up a feed sack, clean a stall, which made the MD's eyes pop out of his head and he told me to quit doing that. I have not had real trouble since, just a few twinges and sore days from overdoing it playing catchup on all my chores. I can still pick up feed sacks, dress myself, work in home health (carefully) seven days a week and do stretching excercises to loosen up my hamstrings. Hope you get well soon.
