So, we've had these babies for a little over 5 weeks. They are doing really well and I had to share some pics I took of them today. Let me know what you think! Oh, and feel free to guess the sex,

ADORABLE.
I have to let you know my 50ish year old father put on his glasses to look at them, and said "Oh Jeeze. They're faces only mothers could love. I don't understand you chicken people."
I however, think they are lovely! Very nice chicks!!

Aw they are cute little babies

They look like mostly roosters to me

just kidding, I can never tell at that age

Hopefully you will end up with mostly hens

Silkie babies are always so cute! I hope they turn out to be mostly hens for you! But it seems to be about at the 6 month mark that you are able to tell who is who or they crow at your like my silkie "hen" did. I was outside with my first silkie it looked up at me and crowed! I got it when it was 5 months and the breeder was "pretty sure" it was a hen. It did look like a hen up until in crowed and then it started developing like a roo after that. They are tricky tricky. Fingers crossed for you!

Oooohhhh, wouldn't it be great if they were all hens!!! I won't be that lucky though.

I don't mind keeping a rooster (or two), so I'm hoping for 10 hens!

Our silkies were just starting to crow and we had no clue....and now we can start telling them apart. (I hope) I swear though the "crowing" of a few of them sounds more like screeching banshees than roosters
