My first ROO

He. Won't. Shut. Up.

Ok I totally get that he just found his voice and he's all happy about it, showing off for his girls, but all day? Hopefully, Roopenn will get over that youngster bravado and settle into a more practical rhythm of crowing.

I mean morning and afternoon and evening would be great. Presently if he was a time piece, he'd be the third hand
Michael Buble/ Roopenn isn't always such a mellow charmer, huh? He might calm down as he matures and establishes his dominance over all he surveys. I have several roosters, so they are exchanging crows on and off through out the day. Its a good thing I enjoy hearing them crow, and my neighbors are not too near. I'm just used to noisy birds - I have geese. Thankfully, none of them hang out under my bedroom window.

I was woken early one morning by the sound of my rooster in his coop doing a noisy crow exchange, like duelling banjos but louder and more obnoxious, and when I leaned out the window to see where the second rooster was (I thought maybe my neighbour's had escaped) the answering crows were coming from high up in a spruce tree! It turned out it was a crow, mimicking, probably teasing my rooster.

Oh dear ... he could be responding to the wild birds.

I knew crows were smart, but who knew that they had that kind of sense of humor. LOL At least roosters don't respond to most wild birds that way, only mocking birds perhaps and teasing crows.

It's odd that roosters crow isn't it? I mean why tell every predator for miles around where you and the girls live?
I know right?

Although, I can't say he doesn't look after the girls. Here he is soliciting at the front door, with his girls.

:hmm

More like scream'o vocals here, "OPEN THE F'DOOR AND GIVE US FOOD~ WATER IS FROZEN AGAIN ~ WHAT IS UP WITH THIS WINTER ANYWAY!??"
