Linsday and Rue are positively talking outa the sides of their beaks at me in the morning for the last three days.

I head down to the barn, each morning, half way through my second cup of coffee, between "I'm awake enough to walk safely without being a danger to myself or others" and "I'm ready to face another work day" ...

Anyways, the coup is on my way to the barn and I can hear them all in there yammering away ...

So open the coup and make for the barn and out they all come ... Lindsay breaks from the flock and runs after me. ......

I have only had 1.5 cups of coffee, it's 6: something a.m., and I'm being chased by a chicken.

Luckily there are no major obstacles in my way to the barn, except about 4 inches of ice, a three foot ditch, a three board horse fence, a gate and some harmless baseball-sized-frozen-poo-balls.

So, I mean i have to ask right? I mean what does she want from me? Is it meal worms? She really liked those but does she honestly expect them every time she sees me? Did I offend her somehow?

And then, I had to start running faster to see if it was a coincidence right? And sure enough she picked up speed. I'm definitely being chased by a chicken. Somewhere after rolling my ankles several times on the horse-crap-mine-field I decided to stop and talk it out. I'm pretty sure she was angry about he weather, and the fact that the water bucket was unplugged for the last few nights, and generally she's probably just really angry about he weather. Or, I could be perceiving that because I, am, in fact, very angry at the weather, and I'm living out my hostility through my chicken.... In any case she stopped, gave me the "EYE" and started chastising me ...

Okay well I understand it's freeking cold and I hate it too and ...

Nothing much to report tonight. I was feeling kinddof sick at work today and came home and went straight to bed. I did not hear screamo Roopenn during my nap. I think he has some kindof respect for me. Probably because I'm 'in with the girls'. He's seen me pick them up and he seemed pretty impressed by that. Kinda puffed up and walked around like a russian soldier. He never crows at me, but he crows at pretty much every one and every thing else.

Anyways, I woke up 2 hours later, ate 5 salted-chocolate-caramel-chews and headed to the barn for night chores. We had snow again today, and the girls were roosting when I closed the door. I think they were pretty fed up. It was too dark to look for eggs, and anyways I didn't feel exactly welcome at the moment.

Tomorrow is supposed to be + 10 and rain. Well at least the ducks will be happy.

I think I'll just have to play more with my brooder chicks in the next few days until the weather gets better. They don't know any fowl language yet.

I think we're sharing the same horrid windy wet cold rainstorm. Everybody, horses, sheep, chickens, swan stayed warm and cosy indoors today. Except for the poor sucker who has to out in it to feed them! Hope you're feeling better soon.
