my gander is bleeding from his leg help please

Sounds like you have your hands full.  I´m sure you don´t have to worry so much about it, as she´s got the damage to the part of the bill that can mend...it´s not at the base of her bill...you know, like I wrote on here about our nails...just keep it clean is the most important thing you can do right now, I´d say.  I doubt if anyone will welcome Cheese back, as they have to sort out the pecking-order again.  It´ll be a bumpy ride anyway. They´ll calm down, though, and if you stay and watch a bit you may find out how the damage to her back has been happening.:)

Lol my hands are always full. Hmm I really hope so. I worry about her. If the vet gets back soon I think I'll call her and see what tips she can give me if any. But in the mean time I will keep up with keeping it clean as best as I can. I know, poor Cheese, she always gets the short end of the stick. Yes my geese had ganged up on her and started ripping her feathers out and I had to go break it up. I even ended up getting bit by one of them. It was my fault since I was trying to open its mouth so that it would let go of her wing and I'm not sure how but one of my fingers ended up in its mouth. It was quite painful and even broke the skin. I'm just glad it didn't bite down as hard as it could of. ****So im not sure if everyone knows or remembers but back in like October/November someone posted in the duck forum about looking for articles and pictures of peoples ducks. Well i had wrote an article and submitted it to them and they said that the only way you'll know is when you get your free copy in the mail. Well I'd just like you all know to know that my article that I had wrote was actually used in the new Ducks magazine. Just got the magazine in the mail today. Page 64 is where I'm first mentioned. It is such a great feeling to be featured in a magazine. Its a very well put together magazine too. Also another member was used too, Learycow. She gave a lot of great information.

Congrats dl thats awesome.. can you give us the name of the magazine so we can look for it? I'd love to see it.

And yes poor cheese, hopefully once you get the geese into their own pen and things aren't so tense. ganders should be really getting into their mating attitudes so she won't be safe and then your ducks will have to be reintroduced to her slowly too. Hopefully the bill will begin to fill end and heal on it's own, are you still using the ACV?

Thanks Miss Lydia! I'm not sure if its in stores yet but its called "Ducks" 2nd edition. Here's a pic of the front cover.
400
. Yes I can't wait to get it built. My ganders surprisingly have never been the mean ones or the ones to start things with the others its almost always Amelia. She's also the more distant one from people. And I've been watching as much as I can and I haven't seen any mating going on with my geese. Granted I only watch them for a little bit in the morning after I feed and waterthem. II'm hoping it does and yes I'm still using the ACV. They get it fresh water with it in there at least twice a day.

Well, congratulations...

And that poor little duck, you just need to get some fencing and separate them....so if it hurt to pinch you, it´s not so hard to see what they can do to a poor duck, eh? Congrats again......

I'll look for it next time I go to the store.

I like the cover photo. I subscribe to Back Yard Poultry and really like that magazine but it doesn't have as much about water fowl as I like so this maybe my alternative.
Most of it is about ducks, but in the back there is a section that touches on Geese, turkeys, and a few others.

Update on Amelia.. I haven't really been checking up on her like I should with my busy schedule and the -30degreeF weather. It's been crazy cold here. But I thought of it while doing chores tonight and I checked her bill over well and I don't see any differences. No improvement but no more damage either. I'm still using the ACV in the water at least twice daily some days more.

Well if it´s not any worse, it sounds good....it should slowly mend, just keep it clean like you´re doing...good job.
