my gander is bleeding from his leg help please

Here on BYC there are some threads about this.  One is called something like  "Help, goose with broken bill/beak," and has some interesting links. There´s another one, too.  Have a read.

I will go look and see if I can't find something like what Amelia has.

I hope Amelia heals quick too. I will deff get a picture of it tomorrow. Its punctured so I'm a little worried about possible infection. Cheese is almost completely recovered and her feathers have grown back completely. I'm just waiting for them to grow out as long as the others and for me to build that goose house hopefully this week. As long as the weather does indeed stay warm like they claim its going to.
The thaw may not last long I hope you can get it built, and glad to hear about Cheese. Having ACV in her water will help keep some of the bacteria down.

As long as it lasts until Monday I will be all set. Me too, I told her she needs to teach her flock mates a lesson and send them inside instead of her lol. However I don't see that happening. Well that's good I'm glad I added it to their water tonight.

Here are the best pics I could get.

I may be a late response but I have had similar experiences with wounds. I keep some surgical providone surgical soap around to cleanse wounds then wrap for 24 hours. I take the bandage off to heal. Peer oxide is a no no for wound care .. Hospitals have stopped using it.

is it safe to use the providone on the face especially round the mouth? and serv I thought it looked alot like a finger too.

That´s not too bad, just keep it clean and I´m sure she´ll be fine. If you have any doubts about it, like if it looks like it´s starting to get infected, you could give her some antibiotic, but I reckon she´ll be ok if she manages to keep it clean. As MLyd said, ACV is very good, and she can get it in her eyes and all, no problem!

Lol I guess it does kinda look like a finger.. If it does become infected what antibiotic should I use? It looks fine today. I've been keeping ACV in their water so I'm hoping that will help. She's eating fine and drinking. Today since I have the day off I have them out free ranging and she's been happy eating the dead grass and splashing in the puddles. I'm glad it isn't too serious.
