We have considered raising turkeys, but haven't taken the step yet.I have a black mix turkey hen named Peep who just turned five months old a couple days ago. I heard they don't lay till wayyy later so I didn't expect an egg anytime soon and I just went out there with her and my tom Shadow. AND THERE WAS AN EGG IN HER PEN!! They lay this early???

That is a very young age to start laying. I have heard of it tho, just not all that common. It could depend on the time of year she was born. This year I had hens start laying in late December/ early January at 9-10 months old.
She was born on Valentine's Day, so early February. But yeah I got her when she was a newly hatched poult she just recently turned five months old

Yep, she looks very healthy and happy. Hope she lays lots of eggs for you. Wonder how often she will lay. All my hens laid daily for the first 2 weeks, which to my understanding is also abnormal.Yeah! Did you see the pic of her with her egg?
