My success came when I told him we could sell hatching eggs for way more than eating eggs.

So I got to have more chickens and a roo, too.

I talked about chickens for a long time, my husband just thought I was talking,...then I ordered the coop and got the chickens! He wasn't going to help...now he is hooked and is a big help and it has been great. We have a "together hobby".

My approach with the DW has been something like this...

--Well honey, maybe I have been spending too much time and money on chickens. I guess I could start riding motorcycles again, or maybe I could get a boat and get back into fishing.


That's usually enough right there.

Unfortunately, the store didn't have probiotics, so I didn't go.. Will just have to be happy with these 4 (and my other 7), and just wait until my own baby chicks come along!!!

You mean your husband knows how many chicks you have???? Mine just sees several and thinks "a million" --- I collected 3 more 6-week olds the other day and he didn't notice the addition
