My mail lady did a drive by drop off!!!!!

It doesnt' matter when the eggs broke. The mailcarrier should not be throwing packages out of her car!!!! Seems to me if egg was all over the packages she would of drove up and told you that....common curtisy. Guess that is a lost art.

Don't give up! Keep fighting!

I love that she can explain the reasoning to your children! Great thinking!

Chrissie ~ go further up since she won't take it seriously. Did she say ANYTHING about her throwing them from the vehicle? Whether that is what caused them to break or not is beside the point, IMO. What she did was not okay and not acceptable. Make phone calls, make sure you have the drivers name, speak to as high as you can to complain. They will take it seriously. You may not get anything for it, but she will at the very least get reprimanded.

(I am a mail carrier. I know not all mail carriers are like this, actually I know most aren't like this, but there are the bad apples in the bunch. We get paid by revenue, i.e stamp sales, people shipping through us, etc. By what she did, she's lost revenue through you and word of mouth is a powerful thing.)

Hubby is on the phone with the postal inspector now. Yes we do work, Hubby owns his own business and I am his helper. So now we are losing money as well, so I am definitely going to fight for this!!

Okay, they keep giving him other #s to call. We went above the postmaster. We are now talking to the postal inspector. We'll see!!

 I am so sorry this happened. I've had problems with mail carriers, too, though nothing like what you are dealing with. I don't know how far you live from your local PO, but you might consider getting a PO box and doing away with mail delivery at your home. But I certainly would continue complaining up the chain of authority if you have to take it all the way to the top. And always include the names of your carrier and local postmaster. Yes, include pictures and explain your fear for the safety of your children. And by all means keep a paper trail. Keep track of who you talked to, names, dates, times, etc. all the way up the line. At the very least, they should pay for your eggs to be replaced and replace your carrier with someone efficient and caring.

Don't forget that you can ask for the lost time from work. If it were not for the carelessness of the postal employee and they uncalloused opinions of the postmaster, you would be hatching eggs right now and not wasting your time trying to get idiots fired from their routes. AND I believe you should strive for that. They need to pay for your eggs, the replacement eggs, all of your postage, your time off work and your suffering, and give you a free PO box. As far as they are concerned those were prized rare eggs few and far between and something that would enhance your life in these struggling times. Something to provide nourishment to your family. that BEEOOOOOOCH(head shaking side to side with attitude like mad) stole that from you and did it maliciously and with vengance! For God's sake, right in front of you like you did not count or anything. I am sorry but I would have jumped the counter and landed her like a fish! I want to call MY post office and complain about her. OHHHH I am so mad!

Give me her name and I will report her to MY PO....not that it will do much good. I wish you lived closer.....

The psotmaster said they can't reimburse me due to the fact of no insurance. I told her it should come out of my mail ladus pocket, right??? It wasn't even that much $$$. And reimburing me isn't going to make my boys feel better. Over here,They are all witchs I tell you! They were looking at me like I was stupid for crying about eggs?? Iguess they just don't get it!!!

I seriously, seriously doubt you'll see any monetary compensation, unfortunately. When you give her that note with pics, etc., copy it and send it to the postmaster and postal inspector as well so that it is documented. It should go in her file. If the postmaster is sticking up for her (and yes, they will, but she may get reprimanded privately, anyway), the postal inspector very well may bring the heat down on the postmaster and then s/he'll have to do something to her to take the heat off of herself/himself. Just in my experience. ;-)

I think each PO has their own little thing where they are all friends and will stick up for the carriers. I hope you can get something done with someone above them.

She needs to be fired or put on suspension. She needs to pay for your eggs and the shipping cost.

It would have been different if she would have no thrown the box, but she did. Shame on her.

On the other hand I must tell you, my mail carrier used to go to a bar where I was a bartender and she knows how I can get if someone is out of place, she brings my packages to my door and if I am not at home she leaves me her cell phone number and tells me to call her when I get home and she will bring it back. I let her know ahead of time when I was getting my eggs so she knew what they were.

I think you should give her something like, dead fish for Christmas, ones that have been sitting out for a week, wrap them up in plastic, don’t put your name on it and when she gets home to open it she can’t say where it came from, how could she prove it. hehehe

Or just hold on to those eggs until then and stick them back in as a gift?

Okay, that's bad. I don't recommend that.
