My miracle chick!

So happy you got a happy ending!

Around the last 3-2 weeks of school, a kindergarden class hatched some chicks. They made a really bad dicision to help the chick out of it's egg, even though theyshould've just let it be. They damaged the chick, and gave it to my science teacher. Luckily, since he was expirienced with chickens, he saved the chick. Poor thing though, he had egg shell permamently stuck in his head, since it was embedded into his skull or something. But we got to keep the chick, but it is a rooster. His name is Laker. He is a white leghorn!

Here it is. The chick is doing amazingly well!

I took the vetwrap off the legs and I untaped the foot.

Thank you! I pray at least 1-2 are girls, if not all three. I have to rehome all boys.

The poor rooster. I'm so happy with my decision. The chick is thriving! I stopped the vitamins down the beak due to being as strong as the other two that hatched a few days before. This was my first hatch. I'll only hatch if the farm store I buy chicks no longer sells them. This was by far too heartbreaking losing the other chicks. There was no reason they should of been lost. The little chick is the sweetest and calmest of the bunch! :D

My daughter named the chick mable I believe. In hopes it's a girl.

A few years ago I helped one of my silkies hatch and am so glad I made that decision. Tiny Amy is still smaller than all the others but a real character. She is so headstrong and stands up for herself. She spends as much time as possible squeezing through gaps the others can't and ending up next door or getting in to my veg patch and demolishing lettuces etc. I love her. Good luck with your chick.

Thank you! I caught Marble doing leg strengthening exercises!lol
