My neighbors are mad about my chickens - but we are LEGAL

Pigs, pig pen...but only if the wind blows their way.

I guess I understand the intent, but having had my grandfather lose a large parcel of land that had been in the family for generations to adverse possession I believe that the entire concept is generally bad. In my opinion, morally it is theft under almost every circumstance.

I agree, I checked our state, and the law was recently revised two years ago, and it is much harder to take possession on property deeded to someone else. I am still looking into it. I appreciate everyone's input and confidence - I am still getting the "if looks cold kill" attitude

yep she is right, here it is called encroachment. And I should know as I have my fence a few extra feet father back in the buffer woods area between my home and my neighbors home. Now they haven't said anything but I am aware that after 7 years that land becomes mine. Again it is completely unusable land for them, and I did not do it intentionally the fence people put it 4 feet farther back than where I said to, but once done I was not about to remove it without the owners asking. 3 more years left and those few feet become mine. Now would I push the issue if they asked. Of course not but if no one says anything about it I wont either

You actually have to file in court to obtain title, but if you have done all that is required in your state, it should be awarded to you. If the fence company built the fence in a different location than you specified, especially if it was not on your property, then you had an issue with them; they should have had to rebuild it in the proper location at their cost.
