I have an almost 2 1/2 yr old silkie, her name is cheep cheep! Idk what’s wrong with her it started out Thursday or Friday morning when I let all my birds out the coup, she’s usually the 1st or 2nd one out in the morning, I just thought she just wanted to sleep in for a bit. So to my surprise I was shocked when I came out later around 10am and she was still on her perch. I put her on the ground and she played for a bit but kept wanting to be near me/ in my lap. I knew something was wrong so I took her inside and she hasn’t left or got up in a few days. I noticed she’s barely eating but she’s drinking. About 3-4 days in i noticed she’s having very watery dark green stools. 4-5 days in she can’t move. I put her down on the floor to eat and now she can’t stand up anymore, lies down and sometimes lays on her side, she’s got very droopy wings. She can move and get around a little bit but not very far. I’ve been giving her electrolytes, a low-dose aspirin, amoxicillin/antibiotic just in case, and a bit of sugar water to get her energy back up. Somebody please help! This is my baby, she’s always been a happy, go-luck, bubbly, very energetic girl, and now to see her where she can’t even move, it’s so sad.😭 My heart hurts for the girl.

I’m sorry your bird is not doing well! Feel her crop, is there anything in it? Is it hard or squishy? How do her eyes, ears, and nostrils and mouth look? Normal? Does she have an odd odor to her? I suggest trying to feed some egg yolk, raw or cooked is fine. If she’s refusing to eat or drink she will loose energy quickly, but she already has seemed to. Can you post some pictures?

I use poultry store herb mixes and water down the food and put that in there i overdose it quite a bit along with garlic and ACV in the water. For crop issues i soak some bread with olive oil. Usually all that in combo will push anything out. Good luck with it all

Can you post photos of her and her poop?

What do you normally feed her?

When was her last egg?

I would start vitamin therapy to see if that helps. Give her 400IU Vitamin E and 1/4 tablet B-Complex daily along with some egg. Encourage her to eat her normal feed, you can give it wet if that easier for her to handle.

Check to make sure her crop is emptying overnight and look for lice/mites.

Marek's disease does come to mind, hopefully this is not the cause of her decline.

Agree, sounds awfully neurological. My heart breaks for you and your chicky.
We love these little ones and grieve when they suffer. Hope you are doing ok.

No, she hasn’t been eating so her crop is very soft and mushy. I tried giving her some egg, but she didn’t eat it, I tried giving her a little bit of feed, and she picked out it for a while, but didn’t eat much of it. But she definitely is drinking and seems thirsty all the time. I’ll post some pictures of her.

She’s so lifeless right now, not the hyper/happy go lucky girl I know

Everything looks normal ears, eyes (she’s definitely closing them a lot) nostrils are clean and not running

Thank you, I have been putting vitamins in her water, I mixed some eggs with some olive oil, I gave her a little bit of baby aspirin for pain, and I’m also treating her with antibiotics just in case.

I normally feed her chicken feed and table scraps eggs, mashed potatoes, corn, green beans, whatever I cook. Yes, her poop is really watery and green. It’s almost so green it’s black but yes I’ll post some pics
