My pre-Thanksgiving fruit pie "practice pies"

Homemade crust!

I'm following at least four generations of my family's recipe...for the first Thanksgiving ever, my mom is having ME make the pies (normally she does it). I need to fold and pinch the two crusts together better before baking the next time I make fruit pies, but overall, these turned out quite well. Of course, I had to personalize the crust pattern.

Those look very nice. I use to love to sit and watch my mom pinch the dough around the pie tin rims when she baked......

How did you do the cut-outs? With a cookie cutter or by knife? I think I may do something similar with my Pies! Thanks for the idea!
