Well, we didn't see the boyfriend yesterday...hopefully they are not having a little tiff or anything. We were gone most of the day and only my husband was home, and he doesn't seem to see the need to watch the chickens' every move all day long, so maybe he showed up for a bit.
He'd better not break or heart or I'm going to have a little talk with him!
I have just loved reading this thread! I was just trying to explain to one of my patients yesterday (who owns a small flock but doesn't get all in to them like we do) about how chickens seem to form attachments. He seemed to buy in to it, but kind of laughed, too. Your little "backyard summer fling" is proof of this, yet again! Love it!!
That is so precious!! Thanks for sharing their little love story w/us! I just hope he shows back up tomorrow.
I'm really curious about his breed. I have a young pullet with the tan speckles on her wings, trying to figure out the breed! lol
She doesn't look exactly like him, but the freckles do! lol He looks a lot like a White Leghorns...except for th freckles.
(This is Henny, still unclear on breed, same freckles! lol https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=375584 )
I hope your roo didn't have a "talk" with romeo. Maybe his owners finally figured out he keeps heading for your place. I hope he is okay. I don't think he is the "love em and leave em" type.
Add a new worry for the worry queen now, I'll be stressed till I hear he is okay or that he becomes a member of your family.
