Bit worried cause my quail hasn't hatched out yet temperature and humidity is fine . I have tapped the egg gently and it does tap back not straight away but it's there I can hear it . When do they hatch after hearing this tapping?

Thankyou Lucy🙂

Hello thankyou for your reply yes it's our only egg left our other egg did pip but sadly she never made it 😔 I'm hoping this one hatches I'm new to all of this xx

That's a bummer.

How is it going? If it's been at least 21 days, then you can try assisted hatch to see if you can save it.

I highly recommend that you read this article thoroughly several times before attempting to assist. Sometimes the chick comes out o.k., but be prepared that is may not make it.

Hello there thankyou for your reply I have noticed it has pipped hole I'm hoping this is going to be a good hatch should I assist with it's hatching though it's 21 days tomorrow?

Okay there has been no change so do I still wait ? Or do I open it slightly . How long do they normally stay pipped?

Hello there thanks for your reply okay I will wait and I will read the article again yes it is very interesting that article quails can be the same as chicks can take 24 hours . My other chick was stuck I believe I just wish I had helped her 😞❤️
I know the pain 💔 I am sorry for your loss
But I also know the pain of helping too soon and I found helping too soon and killing a healthy chick is worse then not helping a chick that could not make it by its self

Keep talking to her it will calm her, their mums would talk to then all the time when they are hatching, by the time my babys hatch they know my voice, I check on my babys every time I think of it

If she is cheeping loudly or sounds scared talk to her and if that does not soothe her then gently move her egg then she will know you are there and calm down, if you can see her beak then you can gently rub her beak to calm her too I had a baby who didn't want me to leave her in the incubator alone!

Good luck
