It's likely a double-yolk egg, they're pretty common for a new layer.
when my hens first started laying i had huge eggs like that, all were double yokes.......
I Didnt keep track, and it was hard cause i sold some dozens and gave some dozens away, and they would say, hey that large egg was a double yoke, never had a triple...oh my!!!!@Wee Farmer Sarah ah, I see.
