Is there such a thing as a triple yolk?!

Hear hear. Call me conservative, but I would feel very blessed if my girls stick to the boring, single yolk, nice strong single shell, normal-type eggs...that fill up "jumbo" egg cartons! Seriously, I prefer big eggs for cooking with, but my hens' health comes first. For now I keep the Jersey Giant's and BC Marans' eggs, which average 60-70 grams, and give away the rest. Can't seem to give them fast enough, and one of my Brahmas just started laying yesterday, bringing my layer count to 6 (out of 14). It's a nice problem to have, really.

It's likely a double-yolk egg, they're pretty common for a new layer.

Is it common for them to lay two? She layed another double yolk egg, (but I already ate it uwu)

Edit: it was a really long egg, not nearly as big as this one...

Goodness! Never had a hen lay an egg quite that large. My little Faverolles will sometimes surprise me and lay non-double-yolked eggs that are much larger than you'd expect for the breed. Yet my Cochins will lay smaller, rounder eggs!

when my hens first started laying i had huge eggs like that, all were double yokes.......

Wow! That just might be a triple. It's 2x bigger than my Jersey Giant's eggs, they average 70 grams (about 2.5 oz). Poor Scarlett!

I Didnt keep track, and it was hard cause i sold some dozens and gave some dozens away, and they would say, hey that large egg was a double yoke, never had a triple...oh my!!!!
