First time poster here. So I have a Brahma chicken, whom I thought was a hen .She is 7 weeks old. Today she crowed. A lot . I should mention that she is a bird we rescued and she has been human imprinted and has no flock but us humans who treat her like a queen. But I'm afraid my queen might be a king. I will put pics and a video of the crowing. I hope all uploads fine .I want to give a thank you in advance.
Edit : the video won't upload but trust me, it's a "crow".

I would try to find some girls his age, at least a couple anyways. They are more expensive, but a quick remedy to the situation, it will give him the companionship he needs Then you can get some day olds to get your flock to where you want it.

Wow. This changes everything. Lol. I can't let him go.... I don't think anyone will ever care for him the way we do. Maybe I should look at the threads on human imprinted roosters. Thank you for your reply. I appreciate you.
I had a rude awaking at about 7 weeks also. No crowing, but a nice red crown like that and nowhere near Brahma laying age. Still, at over 3 months old, I haven’t heard him crow. But, he is with a BO pullet, and they’ve been together since 3 weeks. I have to keep him so she has her friend when they go join the others. He’s timid though, I don’t suspect he’ll ever be aggressive. He’s likely going to be the lowest of the 4 cockerels in my flock of 35. Good luck.

Ha...my Orp cockrel didn't start crowing till 5 months, but I raised 6 SL Wy's this spring,4 were cockrels and they were crowing at 7 weeks. So there is alot of variances as to when they start crowing

Welcome! He's a handsome boy, and as everyone said, he needs friends. Immediately, and to learn to be a chicken!
There's a learning curve to understanding chicken/ rooster behaviors, and as a new owner, you are going to misunderstand any signs of early human aggression he may show. He's also confused, and needs to find his way into 'chicken society' before it gets worse for him.
You can order older pullets from some hatcheries, or maybe get some from someone nearby. Be careful, because you can also bring home sick birds from a local source, and have a mess. Ordering chicks is safer in the long run, but he'd be alone another month, not good.
Where are you located? Check on your state thread for nearby birds too.

I am in CT and I'm lucky because mypther in law has many hens and gets chicks often so I think she is going to help me out with this. I just want to thank everyone for their help and kindness. I'm not much of a social media gal but this experience was very enjoyable. Thank you for having me and welcoming me into your community.
