She still has a lot of growing to do. She may be small but won't be as small as you are thinking.
If she is only just now turning 5 months then she has her baby teeth that she will be loosing right now and going into the gangly teenage stage. Also she should be loosing her baby coat and starting to get her adult coat in.

She is an adorable pup and your older one certainly is a fluff ball!

I don't see why you are worried about the size of your puppy. What does she weigh right now? You said she might only be 10 pounds full grown? In that pic she looks to be quite a lot larger than the hen, I think her growth is normal so far. Do you know the sizes of her parents? That will help you determine what her size will be as an adult.

okay thanks for all the kind words. i am gonna upload a new picture today sometime!!
she is my little toy sheltie lover tho!

at 4 months shes going to at least double her current weight, she wont be done growing till shes 2 years old even if some of that growing is only filling out so i wouldnt worry too much about how tiny she is...
she may still be on the smaller side but in all honesty as long as you love her theres nothing stopping her being all the dog you want her to be, one of my cresties is tiny compared to standard and he still runs agility and lure coursing, hes just as fast as his 12lb counterparts at only 6 lbs!

Oh good heavens. Shelties are supposed to be between 13 and 16 inches at the shoulder when full grown. She looks to be the proper size for her age. Your older dog looks to be oversized, which many pet shelties end up. Your old dog is a sable and white, your new puppy is a Tri color. If you have these worries about your puppy shouldn't you contact your breeder?

Like everyone else is saying, it looks like she's going to grow more as she gets older so I wouldn't worry about her size. She's adorable!

My first dog was a sheltie. They're such a great breed, I really love them! Herding dogs are the best, in my opinion.
