So sorry to hear about what happened. I am glad you got to spend Thanksgiving with her. Thanksgiving is a bittersweet time for us, because my MIL died on the 21 of November, 12 years ago, and the day after the funeral was my DH's 30th birthday. It was hard then, and still is. It still hurts, but it's more of a dull ache, rather than the sharp stabbing pain that is was when it was fresh, if that makes sense??

No, you won't "get over it". Ever. Or "get used to it". All I can do is just tell you how sorry I am, and that I hope you start feeling better soon. Your post was very touching and left a lump in my throat.

Lots of hugs. My FIL died at age 45 from pancreatic cancer. He only got to see one of our kids, the other two weren't born yet but I have a pic of him holding our oldest son right after he was born and we treasure that.

Deepest sympathies on the loss of your beloved sister. Everyone works through their grief in their own way, as you are doing now. I was with my friend as she was dying of lung cancer. I still think about her almost every day.

I am so sorry.

This brings back the day my mom died. You expressed the pain and the anguish and then the letting go so perfectly.
