I once kept a green snake in a jar under my bed for almost a month until my mother decided to clean under there. I never even got to say good by to it. And I actually had a pet possum. Found it as a small baby, it was kinda cute and friendly then but the older it got the more possum-like it got and it eventually went it's own way. They are not real bright. And no, it never ate a single chicken.

I have a friend that was driving on a country road when she drove over an already dead opossum, but heard a noise so she stopped and found a baby opossum still clinging to it's mommies back, well what was she to do, she took it home and has had her yes her thank goodness for about 5 months, It's just a pet an really is sweet. Can't say they are for everyone but perfect pet for my friend! Much better to get one very young though instead of the size your boys has chosen lol

Chicken eatin' pest. I would wait until the boys went to sleep and whack him and feed him in pieces to my pheasants. After all the birds he ate, its time for payback.

Lol that is funny. I would catch butterflies and keep them as pets for a while but never a opossum. Opossums are very soft, and our dog likes to find opossums and play with them like a toy (luckily they play dead so our little poodle doesn't get bitten).

She's pretty! I want to see pics when she has the pups, but at the same time, I don't want to cuz then I'll really want one, especially if I saw one that had the coloring I want. (Black w/the little bit of white on the chest so it would match my cat.
