A couple months ago i went to go put my ducks up before work and found one of my ducks separate from the other ducks. She was walking funny and her quack was hoarse. Im not really experienced with this so i put her in a brooder with food and water and she was dead when i came back from work. That morning I had found blood in the coop and no source and all the birds seemed fine. I had suspected she was eggbound and died from that.
Now another duck that i have has the same hoarse quack, walking weird, lethargic. I first noticed that she was slow and i knew something was wrong. I soaked her in warm water for a long time then put her in a coop with food and water. I felt her abdomen and I dont feel any egg(as far as I can tell.) Not sure what to do. Shes never layed but she should lay any day now(runner duck 30 weeks). Shes drinking a lot of water and when i chased her down she actually seemed to spit up a lot of water.

Do you have any clacium gluconate? If its an egg stuck this is the best stuff to get one moving. You can't always feel an egg it depends on where it's stuck. Walking weird can mean egg-bound, her hoarse quack I am not sure. TSC carries this product you want to put 1ml over a tasty treat[small amount] so your sure she will get the whole dose. You can also give it by mouth if she isn't eating. don't put it in her water it will be too diluted.

Thank you so much, this saved my ducks life. This morning i found that she had passed an egg and she was acting normal. It was a long egg and i believe her first one.

I'd get it ASAP being egg-bound can take them out pretty quick.
Can you check her vent to see if it's pulsing that is another sign they need to lay. You can heat a towel in the dryer place it in a crate with her laying on top the moisture from the warm towel can help. Putting her in a bathroom with the hot water running in the shower can help. [Don't put her in the shower with the hot water running] Letting her float in nice warm water can sometimes help too.
Calcium gluconate works the best.
Ill get it on my way home from work
