Advice is given freely especially if your new, but that doesn’t mean it is accurate!
So what I have learned so far!

*Your chickens need lights in the coop 24 hours! - not true ! Myth!
*Light is Beneficial for egg laying- true
*Your chickens should start laying in 4 months(16weeks) - not true for us! Idk for others.

*
You need to cover every crack and hole for winter! False!
Ventilation is important- direct freezing wind -not good!
Solution- baffles!

Oh you need lime! Do I? I haven’t looked that one up!

* Oh you will have Free eggs!

Are they free? After building a coop, run, and food?

I bet others have a myth buster or two!:old

Don’t get me wrong....I am enjoying the journey! They make me laugh! And they are great at free roaming and eating bugs! :):wee

Why can't you sell your eggs for $1, and your meat birds for $5, like at the store?

I just love those, from folks who have no idea what it actually costs to produce either item on a very small scale.

Right! I pay $2 a $3 for farm eggs.
the carton costs money too!

Another person gave me advice! Sigh! For Newbie it can get confusing.... I figured keep them fed, dry, and fresh water!
