Naked Neck/Turken Thread

I'm guessing you need the other kind of white... recessive white is ' all or nothing'. can't get colored birds with white patterning with it.

For white patterned birds, have to use dominant white. It's the kind of white found on buff laced polish, sebrights, cornish etc. What it does is replace the black areas with white... for example the buff laceds are literally a gold lace with dominant white added. It changed the black edging to white.

You could make a white laced partridge with dominant white. Which partridge did you mean? there's a couple different definitions using the same partridge name..

Found a picture of the original parents of my stock! As you can see, a lot more black than in my baby.

I would say that I'm going for a more exchequer pattern in them. I think they look prettier with the extra white.

Where are you from? It says the desert. You get cold? lol

I have had frizzles for years, and they do just fine here. We get to -40 on the coldest days. Average around -15 for a high in the winter (lows average -20ish).
ALL of the southwest desert gets colder in the winter. Especially if you live in the rockies and any higher elevation. I live on a plateau at 5000ft. in northern AZ
Sorry I do not have the skills to convert to metric. But seriously, it is a misconception that the desert does not get cold. Since you live so far north, you would expect VERY COLD winters. In the winter here the nights go down to single digits F. And I need to replace the frozen water for my birds, plus they live almost out in the open within a screened in large area with shelter from wetness (it does rain here) and some covering on the windows from wind. Also I really have not had LF frizzles only teeny tiny, so the small size has to be considered. You know much more about frizzles and cold than I do. I am not tolerant of cold due to a circulatory issues and moved from PA and WV to a place where the sun shines often. Now if you are talking about Phoenix OH MY too extreme for me. But I do like the winters there.
