Naked Neck/Turken Thread

Here are some shots of this chick.

This didn't quite turn out like I was hoping. Try to show the top of the wing up by the shoulder. The chick moved when I shot the picture.

That's a tricky one, could be a sign of mottle carrier or one of those all blacks that just happen to have some white feathers on first chick feather... on the latter it normally molts out. Hmm.

egtopsy is opening the unhatched egg to look at the chick and see how far the chick lived and I can see what the chick was going to look like, for instance whether it was fm, scaleless, or fluff color, etc... I candle the egg first to make sure it isn't liquid before I open though!!!!

Opening one once is enough that you never forget that step ................................... again!

I have a weak stomach and that gets a violent gagging reaction from me.......

I gently shake the eggs first, any egg that sloshes is not even candled at all! No, no no no.....

Yes the white patch on the back is real not just lighting / camera flash. Not sure what is going on, but maybe a mottled / barred like Qtip????

It takes a lot in the smell / sight line to gag me, w/ my job I have been desensitized.

If Qtip is his broody I guess that he could be her son because of the color and fun looking comb

Kassaundra, your skills as wardrobe designer have greatly improved. Perhaps you have a budding commercial venture!

Cute babies. The featherless ones must be a hoot to be around but I know I couldn't take care of them.

That outfit is two socks, an adult bootie type sock for the main part w/ a hole cut in the toe end for his head, and an infants sock cut into a "band" for the waist band part. The sock tends to roll up the waist band helps keep it down.
