Naked Neck/Turken Thread

Possession is 9/10ths of the law, right? Since they wandered into your yard, you have new chickens?

No, yard is ours, but neighbour asked us if he can let his chickens here because they started a garden in their yard so chickens can't free range there and that had influence in egg producktion so we let him in exchange for a few eggs.

A couple of photos of my project chicks. Sorry they are not photogenic at this point. They are a black copper marans x wheaten marans/EE project to produce Turkens that lay dark brown eggs. In the middle photo they are 8 days old and love their roost already.
And also they are beautiful.

Speaking as a lawyer and your friend, I'm happy to see that you questioned your own post.

I have less than no knowledge of the laws in the State (Croatia?) where Phill98 lives but the (9/10s) proposition is a perfect example of an Old Wives' Tale and simply will not fly in any jurisdiction of the U.S.

The land around my house is open range and from time to time the cattle pay a visit here. We know the rancher and have always joked with him that if a calf just happened to wander into our fenced back yard we'd be eating veal before the rancher ever knew about it. In response he told me that if my hens ever seem to mysteriously stop laying, don't come to him looking for the "missing" eggs. I love good neighbor relations....and a good sense of humor.
