Tomorrow is lock down on 3 Turken eggs from Soggy Bottom Farm!...I can't wait to see what they look like...my family is so not happy....I think they are so cute! I love to see the pictures on this thread....Have a great day.
...and this is what I found. 15 total...not sure what colors they will be. Any guesses? Father was also cuckoo. Sorry for the mess, the momma wouldn't even get up to go potty! LOL
They are said to be very heat tolerant..... Out here though all I can say is they are pretty cold tolerant. My NNs had lovely warm necks walking about cheerfully in -10 degrees C (Brahmas went back in) in the winter. I seriously thought I should be knotting scarves!

Ditto that. My "heavy" birds were wusses ... the white leghorns, the naked necks and my banty were always the first ones out of the coop, regardless of temperature this winter (and we saw some -30 mornings).
I agree! It was a cold winter this year and I was so worried about my girls but I would feel their necks and they would be very warm. They didn't like the snow though!
A few times I had found them where they had made it to a melted spot and they were too afraid to go back in the snow to go back to the coop. But they knew I would of course carry them back. I think they might be spoiled!
