Naked Neck/Turken Thread

I'm okay- aside from a knee problem. Not fun being forced to sit around while summer happens but oh well!

Silver caps! ROFL! That little stinker tricked me! He's barred, after all. Can see the bars most clearly on the row of little feathers on wings, the white on wings and tail is also due to barring. For some reason, some of my cuckoo lavs have almost solid white wings and tails...

One thumb up for the pullet. I like those black feet! Two thumbs for the hen apron.
You should post this pic on Crazy K facebook page. They love pix. I have two hens
wearing PINK CAMO!

Hey Jelly of Rancho Nada Major Thank you for the vote ! Where are the PICS of your Pink wearing hens ? And sorry to say that Blondie does not have black feet. They are olive colored. I love black feet and beaks on birds. I have three banties with black feet and beaks. Two of them are black feathered. The one below, my little showgirl is always wanting to be a broody so I finally gave her some eggs so she can be a virgin mother. She throw a fit if a mate comes anywhere nearby.

I posted this back in February when I first acquired the pair. I gave her mate away because he was in need of some willing companions and I got tired if the noise from EVIL DIVA

Evil Diva is currently sitting on three buff laced bantam polish eggs and one wheaten ameraucana egg. She was a foster mother of a bunch of chicks. She took her job too seriously and crushed at least four of them at different times. If the eggs hatch I will need to monitor her carefully. Buff laced bantams are so tiny.

I would say you have one darn good hen! Your temps have been 100+. Same here in South Texas.
I have 18 NN hens and I am only getting 7-9 a day. When temps are in the 90's it's 14-16 a day.
FYI. I "inherited" 4 partridge rock hens. They have always been prolific layers, but I haven't seen an egg
in 3 weeks. All they do is eat and sleep.

Your hen is young. When she gets a bit older and her "female stuff" settles down she will be a good layer.

My NN girls really think I enjoy Easter Egg hunts everyday!! They have started to hide hem on me. They even trick me into thinking they will lay in the nest. I see them in the nest, I go look and no NN egg but find it elsewhere later. Crazy girls!!!

She is still young yet, but I have notice a trend with her laying already (I like to keep track of everyones laying
roll.png
) She lays two double yolkers in a row, then a normal size egg, then takes a day or two off and does it all again! I have been very surprised how well my flock is laying in this terrible heat, today is suppose to be the worst but rain tomorrow to cool it all back down to the 90s! Never thought I would look forward to 90 degree weather
