Naked Neck/Turken Thread

Barring is dominant, so black sex link hens won’t be able to give barring to their chicks since they are not barred. Dominant white isn’t responsible for that coloring, either, as it replaces black, and your chick appears to have some black patterning.
I thought it was possible for dominant white to be incompletely expressed? Everything I read said it was a leaky gene. So I thought that made it possible to have areas of black. I think my chicks are gorgeous so far whatever is going on with them.

barring I’ve never really looked into but just said that because I know some sex links are made with barred rosters.

Yes, it is possible. For instance, a bird with both black and one copy of dominant white could be white with black spots. However, I only see black patterning on your chick. If it had dominant white, most of that would be white. However, dominant white does not hide red/gold/buff colors.

Oh in person there is definitely a buff gold color as well.

@BlueBaby Both my parent birds have the feathers with colored tips. So I think it’s a possibility to get mottled birds from from them. I really hope they feather out similar to the alohas. I looked at the aloha threads and it looks like I may have accidentally created that color type with my two favorite chickens.

Like I said, you'll have to wait until they grow out a bit more to see what they really are going to look like.

I have 2. A NN/frizzle "Fancy Nancy"

And a NN named "Nova".

I also have a smooth rooster that has the NN/friz gene, but he came out normal.

Haha yes I get a bit excited about the possibilities.
Here is the older of the two that only has red and white feathering.
