Here in the US single comb seems to be the standard, (I think.) I do not do show and do not always read the standards although i hear about them reading BYC. As far as pictures as early as page one of this thread there are pictures scattered throughout and most likely elsewhere. As far as silkie frizzles, try this post.

I prefer the small combs too, rose, pea ect... But I guess for showing the rules are more important then personal taste.

I have not read through all the messages on this thread but would like to know if it is possible that a NN can lay blue eggs? I have one that is kind of butterscotch in coloring; she is in with a wheaten Ameracauna, I seem to be getting 2 blue eggs in one day sometimes...I know that the wheaten will lay blue eggs but there arent any other hens in that pen that should (or could?) lay blue eggs...I am down to wondering about the NN. This is making me crazy! Thanks! Terri O

I like the small combs too and I think that my blue pullets look batter with that comb than my other ones with straight comb
I'm breeding BBSNN with rose combs and BBSNN with single combs

So much activity the last couple of days!! I can't keep up with all of you!

I picked up two NN frizzles from a fellow BYC'er today. They were hatched from DDD's eggs.
I'm building a bantam pen that I'm calling my daughters so I told her the little black one was
hers. Despite her wanting to continue with the Princess theme in naming the hens, she liked
my idea of naming the new bird Dispy. LOL! It really suits her, better than Sleeping Beauty does
anyhow.

When I brought in the splash to show DH he burst into laughter!

Pics tomorrow!

I like the pea combs on the hens, but a rooster just looks more majestic sporting a BIG comb and wattles.

Congrats nava!!! They are both gorgeous!

I'm surprised that little pullet didn't win best in show. Both birds are spectacular. Congratulations!
