Naked Neck/Turken Thread

pg, so sorry for your losses, it has been a bad week here on BYC lots of losses on several threads I visit regularly. I've been depressed this week too b/c I lost two of my 3 baby NN and 2 of my 3 araucana chicks.

The preditor that got mine is no longer an issue.

I am truly sorry for your losses, pg and Kassuandra. There are few of us that have escaped being struck by predators so we can all truly sympathize with you both. Hang in there. Good things are coming your way.

Thank you for your empathy, folks. SO sorry to hear of your losses, too, Kassaundra......we never harden to them, do we?

I have placed 10 eggs in my 'bator....random ones, but hoping some will be NN.

Time to post some uplifting pics. if anybody has any, I think.

Can anyone help me with genders? The NN are now 11 weeks old, and all the barred ones have very red combs/wattles and all have fat legs.

The above - if this is a rooster, this would be the one I would keep. Is the red in the wings indicative of boy?

I am confident this is a girl.

She is so small! Smaller than a silkie the same age. I have 3 that I am sure are girls, but all the barred ones are very red/fat/big.

Here's my best guess, Aoxa.

Barred (the first one)..roo, Red Pyle (second)... roo, Black.....pullet.

The rusty blocks of colour on the wings of the second would indicate male.

Nice birds....
