Naked Neck/Turken Thread

Someone had a question about the female NN's getting red I thought I'd share this pic of Reba from this morning, she is all girl and lays beautiful large eggs, but note how much red in her skin, it changes all the time

How can a top knotted NN not just make you smile!

I am the one that wondered about the red on the side of my baby's neck..the one I just pictured. So glad you posted this, I won't be so worried if she ever gets that red around the chest area too! And yes! That black!

LOL.Kev, I think I just may go to using those cute names! I don't think your chickens will mind ~ will they? :) I don't think I'll get them confused..well..ummm..maybe. Have to go by the color and fluffiness.. I have still yet to name my white girl pictured here.
Thank you everyone for the compliment on HER...Yaay! It seems that everyone is in agreement.

Kassaundra..I have a pullet named Reba! My son named her.

Seems someone said something unladylike in Her Presence...

Hoodas are neat. You going to try keeping the beard present in this line? I love the beards on yours. Someone needs to make a NN line with beards. There was that wonderful hen posted long time ago in this thread with a huge beard.
Yes my goal is 5 toed, bearded, top knoted, mottled NN.

We have had a little sun today, and my latest bunch (eggs deserted by a Blue/Buff Brahma) are aged about 7 weeks.

Here are the NNs. All with vivid green eyes.

Apologies for one pic having duplicated itself.
