Naked Neck/Turken Thread

I made sure I could "do" the boys before I started hatching. I don't know if it is different where your from but here it is very hard to sell roos, it's even hard to give them away. I wouldn't give them away w/o knowing the people since they could end up as bait for fighting roos. It is illegal, but that doesn't stop them they just went underground.

Well I DID think it was a partridge female (partridges are very easy to tell male from female) but she never really looked exactly like my OTHER partridge, and now that she's getting older, she's a lot more red.

Those look like just red to me. Ive had red chickens feather in like that.

draye, that one is for sure a partridge pullet. The other onnnne....I beg to differ. Even the tuft on top of the head is red. So I've got my fingers crossed that she IS a red. I should take new/current pics. It's been a month. I have random pics of them outside walking around, but not focused on any one bird in partcular.

I had two in my current batch that looked very similar and one turned out red, the other "patterned" red I'll see if I can find the pics

sorry to pop out of nowhere im new to this thread. i just bought 4 turken chicks from the feed store. one is yellow, one is yeollow with chip unk markings on the back and a little on the head, one is a red, and one is black with white markings. i tried my best to pick out females, but im new with turkens so im sure i probably picked some males. kassaundra i live in puerto rico and if i have to many males ill have to buy more females to make up for the male female ratio difference so that the males dont fight. i would not be able to sell mine either because of the cock fighting except that here it is legal to do it.

This! This is exactly how mine are turning out, some more patterned than others, but all with this exact color and pattern. I should get updated pics.. I wonder. I know you dabble in EEs, too, is this one possibly an EE/NN cross somewhere down the line? I was told mine were supposed to be green eggers so I assumed they were EE crosses. This pattern is pretty typical in EEs so maybe that's it. Still don't know what it would be called besides 'EE pattern', as it's not really partridge. Maybe yours could have EE in it, too, PsycoPeep?
