Naked Neck/Turken Thread

I am not good w/ chicken disease at all, but the little I know about that kind of green poo is it is bile. The two main reasons I can think of that there would be that much bile in the poo, is not enough food, or liver involvement.

Reba is in chickie mom heaven, she still has two unhatched eggs

One of my friends said the chicks have more feathers then the mom.

My little frizzle naked neck, BB. Should be laying eggs soon

Does your roo have a cold and not eating because of that? Mine giants were diagonal from a pair of light brahmas who both had terrible colds. After we got home, the pullet got the cold. I doctored her and now the cockerel has it. I doctored him tonight. I used VetRX, sold at Tractor Supply. The pullet was better the next day. The cockerel seemed to be a little worse than she was though. He was sluggish this evening in the run and when I picked him up, he hadn't eaten much. Hopefully tomorrow he'll be better! VetRx is a multispectrum medicine so it maybe wouldn't hurt to try it. Is there a food you could entice him to eat. I know mine like a soupy mash. I don't do it much at all, but it was a great way to tame down some crazy acting chicks from a hatchery a few years ago.

I am looking into some blue bantam rocks to work on some blue turkens. I think they have a closer body type to naked necks.

I am soooooooooo sad!!!! I was going to start an EE program with an Araucana Roo and my NN's I have had him for a few days and now he is not well!! We got a Roo last week and have kept him in a giant dog crate. All seemed well until today. Though my little one said different. Yesterday we let him out in the run with the others for like 5 minutes and we found out he could FLY WELL!!. After we got him back we put him back in the crate for the rest of the day. I did my homework on clipping wings and this morning first thing we did the deed. again all seemed well. then I noticed he did not have as much fight in him as he did yesterday. so I put him back in the crate. That is when I noticed he looked listless and tired. He kept standing on the roost and closing his eyes. I also noticed a Yellow poo in the crate. .we moved him away from all the others and now he just stands there and does nothing unless you go after him. Here are a few pics of the lase two poos he had a few minutes apart. I Hope someone can help with this. SOON.

He looks so pitiful.

I started him on Corid Liquid 2 tsp. per gal about 2 hours ago. Any other Ideas would be great or my EE-NN program is as dead as he is and That would be as sad as losing him. He has become a family fav real fast and we would hate to lose him.
Check his feathers for lice.. If he has no lice id say forget it cause once they don't eat and poop green/yellow they gonna die

I made sure I could "do" the boys before I started hatching.  I don't know if it is different where your from but here it is very hard to sell roos, it's even hard to give them away.  I wouldn't give them away w/o knowing the people since they could end up as bait for fighting roos.  It is illegal, but that doesn't stop them they just went underground.

Here it is easy to get rid of roos. However it all depends on my fall in love status if my hubby builds another coop for them. Haha

I don,t want to jinx it but. yesterday I was giving him Corid Liquid. 2 tsp per gal. We had to use a dropper and I was giving him about 15 ml per hour. Then at about 5:30pm someone told me to add it to some food. Well after a few minutes he destroyed the wet food. I then decided to try the crumble dry. He went to town on that too. That is when I started to get a bit more optimistic. I had to work last night and read the gloom and doom posts. I will admit that is what I thought too but had to do all I could with the kids worried and crying. It was love at first site wit him. Well, when I got home from work I found him,
Crowing!!!!

Also there is formed poo in the crate. Mostly pail green and white but since I have been home he has had what looks like a normal Ceacal poo. I am going to continue with the treatment for the full 5 days and keep him away from every one for a while until I am sure He is fine. But thing seem to be looking up. KNOCK ON WOOD!!!. Thank you for all your support and keep your fingers crossed!
