Naked Neck/Turken Thread

The Naked Neck chick on the right is from a blue NN hen and a black Java guy. Left one is from NNFGE pen.

Only two NN chicks in that bunch, but here are some 'other chicks'.
Some new fibromelanotic green-eggers.

And this is a very special chick; cuckoo / barred, pea-ish comb, beard muffs, blue egg gene, slate legs : )

Is there a name for the blue color with a red band around the chest? Or Is that just leakage? I had a naked neck rooster he was so pretty. Thought he was a Cornish cross because he was about 12 lbs and had a super wide chest. Ended up selling him cause my mom went into the coop wearing shorts and he scarred up her legs. Wish I had a picture, maybe ill call his new owner...anyone with that coloring?

Nothing to do with chickens, but had to share my story...


I was going to town and passed this dog who was looking for food on
the side of the road. My heart went out to him so I turned around to
get him. When I got to where I saw him, he wasn't there. So I went
to town and on the way home, I said to God, "So, why did you show me
this dog if I wasn't suppose to save him? Let me help him, let him be
there" When I got to where I had seen him 3 hours earlier, there he
was in the exact same place. As I drove by (because he was on the
opposite side of the road and I had to turn around), I watched him
watch me go by. I turned around and pulled off the side of the road.
I rolled my window down a little and asked the dog if he wanted to go
home with me. He basically tried to get in the car. So, I opened the
back door and in he jumped and sat down. He is well behaved. We took
him to a vet who said he had no heartworms or worms. He is about 2
years old, his teeth are good and his eyes are clear. I called the
Humane Society and they said we can get him some free food and can see
a vet there on Tuesday. He has 2 open wounds on his hips that I will
try to help with. The doctor gave me some antibiotics. So, here is the poor little fellow. He will stay in my garage until we can get him better.. If he is okay with free range chickens, we may keep him. I just couldn't pass him by.

Looks like a boxer, this really touched my heart since I lost my boxer a couple years ago, and I always wonder where he run off to or who took him, I hope he run into some one with a heart like yours.

I suck at drawing but this is what he looked like, selling him 2 years ago was my biggest mistake. How could I recreate this color with bantams? I would defiantly use a Cornish to get the wide chest he had

Holy shrimp that dog is skinny! Make sure the dog doesn't have fleas or ticks, you don't want that in your house. My sister brought a cat home and it had fleas over the summer and they chewed my ankles up. I still have scares from them...

Oh Becky! That just breaks my heart to see a poor starving child like that! I'm so glad you turned around to take a second try --- if God guided you to do it, then 'Thank you, God'.
