Naked Neck/Turken Thread

I've posted these guys a few times and just when I think I'm sure on gender, I get iffy again. They're 11-12 weeks old now. At this point, I'm just waiting for crows and not in a hurry because I'll be keeping them either way, but thought I'd see if the general consensus still remains. Nothing about their behavior strikes me as roo-ish yet, in fact, they're both on the bottom of the pecking order and act like pathetic little babies around all the girls.

This is Herman.
(See the resemblance? LOL
)
Not real sure about this one.

This one is a rooster.

Here's my questionable one.
This is Winston. Compared to a lot of gals, he obviously looks roo-ish, but his comb has never gotten as red or "in your face" as Herman's (I guess that could be attributed to his being white..pardon his dirtiness) and his wattles are MUCH smaller. He's either a girly man or a manly girl lol.
This one is a pullet, I think. Sure looks like one to me.

They look like they could be Hermione and Winnie to me.....BUT........I've been VERY wrong before!

Could you post pics. of their sides (showing wings and tails).....they will be developing saddle feathers by now if they are males.....sorry for anyone who read the unedited post which had auto-corrected to 'dies' instead of 'sides'.....

Good Luck

Never heard that, about the red on the legs, have to look at mine

But you could be right about both been girls, check on saddle feathers, if you don't see it on Herman then you might have an Herminia there.

Oh wow. I thought for sure Herman was a roo by the huge comb and wattles, but I'd be just as happy if he turned into she too! :D I had to get holding pics because they don't like holding still but I'll try to get some side shots today. I haven't noticed any saddles, but I haven't looked too close.

Yeah third the call for more pics- side, standing up and also clear shots of the wing/back area would be good.

in those pics they look pullet but then noticed in the third pic of Herman there seems to be color coming up on the wings.. that usually means roo feathers coming up. Black roos with off color usually have the color on wings and saddles, black hens with off color usually have it as 'lacing' on neck and breast and none or very little on back or wings. Herman also seems to have color coming up on cap....

Winston has female coloring but the feathers in cap look awfully pointy.
