Did someone ask for pictures?????? lol lol lol

These are backwards in time

Reba was in intense mom, very hands on very over protective

Things (1 and 2) were good moms but in a very tough love kinda way, The first week or two they were intense like Reba but then were much more lax.

Thing 1 was so determined to be a mom that after this broody time did not end up w/ a chick (none hatched) she stayed broody. Thing 2 her best buddy was so upset not wanting to leave her budd's side so on the second go round she went broody too.

Kassaundra....lovely pics. of a NN with chicks, thanks for sharing. I would say NNs are averagely broody, and I had two go broody last year (but I discouraged them).

DDD your blue guy is very pretty. You have ducks, too!. Your handsome blue guy the same background colouring as my Gordon (Black clean necked NN X Blue Partridge Brahma). You are right about my Ginger.....she is splash (with a ginger mullet for a hairdo). Roll on next spring.

Most of my NNs seem to be fine about the cold....but the little hen jackets are easy enough to make......maybe with a 'neck warmer extension' for NNs.

Kassaundra those pics are so precious, lil NN chicks are so cute, so far my roo NN Ed is doing pretty good in the frigid temps we had last week ice and snow, he did spend most of his time inside his house though. I'm going to have to see about something for that long naked neck of his. I worry he'll get it caught on something and hang himself though.

As far as I understand, NNs have their origins in Eastern Europe, which is gonna be way colder than where you are. I bet Ed will be just fine. The little NN I have running around right now doesn't even seem to notice the windchill temps of 13 or so we've had in the past 24 hours. He's too busy eating and trying to impress the ladies through the fence.
