Naked Neck/Turken Thread

Last year I decided to breed Leroy(EE/Naked Neck Roo) and Pepper (Silver Laced Wyandotte/ Red Star)

Leroy

Pepper

The results were simply beautiful. I hatched two eggs from the pair one was a boy the other a girl I gave the boy away but kept this little girl.

Daisy
Here is a picture where she is just a chick.

Here she is today. She'll be a year on St. Patrick's Day

Doesn't everyone talk to their chicken-children?
Was he pecking or spurring at you? I'll tolerate a little pecking. I hope it was a single event and doesn't happen again.
I'm so thankful for nice roosters : )
Except for a little frizzle Cochin that was raised by a child as a pet ( and they couldn't keep when it started crowing ), it is a bad-tempered little guy --- and I've raised loads of Cochins. This guy is just an exception to the 'rule'.

He tried the spurs, thankfully his aren't very big yet, he is not quite a year old yet. I do put up with a little pecking myself, but draw the line on the flogging thing they like to try. Actually every NN rooster I've ever had before has never tried that.
White Rock (don't turn your back on them) Barred Rock (same), and I've has quite a few Easter Eggers that would jump you every chance they got, but the current ones that I have aren't aggressive like that.

The temperature outside is about 7 degrees probably around -5 to -10 with wind chill, all you hear on the news is how cold it is.. I don't think it's that cold to me and my NN's are fine also.. Guess the both of us are cold hardy.
