I'll keep updating! I'm hoping Bre gets the hang of things soon. All the eggs laid by those girls go right into the incubator anyway, because there's a slight chance that they are still fertile from a GF roo. Worst part is he's not even from my eggs so I really have no clue! He came from a purchase of eggs that could have been NN, frizzle, both, crested, frizzled silkie, who knows! For all I know he's got the blue egg gene because that was a possibility too.

I also am working on mottled NN bantams, and they are stunning little things too. I'll have to get some pictures of my six week olds.

Sizzles? That could be it- NN bred with a sizzle with not very much silkie traits? At first I thought Bre was rose combed then noticed he had no wattles- typical of pea so I assumed walnut. However with sizzle as possibility.... he could be bearded, which also reduces wattle. I'm not sure if the lower patch of feathers on his face are beard remnants or not. If some of his half cemani chicks turn out with beards, that's proof he is bearded....

Since you seem interested in colored eggs, hope his lack of wattles indicates pea for the linkage with colored eggs.

I have one mottled girl, she is really pretty, we call her Qtip b/c as a chick she loved chasing and harassing a qtip, all the others would completely ignore it, I don't even remember why we were putting the qtip in the brooder now. I thought she was a male b/c she was so aggressive w/ it. She is head hen now, and the concubine of the visiting male guinea.

That's funny! Oh it would be interesting to see a mottle bred with a guinea... do they show mottling or spots? Prob not but fun to imagine eh?

I have never seen him breed her, but they run around together a lot and sleep together. He is such an imbicial we just call him "The Idiot" he and two others wandered up one day, the other two disappeared before they figured out to go inside at night. He has been here for months he sees the chickens run up to us when we come in the yard, he sees us give them all food he sees the chickens aren't alarmed by us, but he acts like we are bears everytime he sees us, starts alarm yelling and running, usually in circles.

Yep that's guineas lol.

afaik, guinea cocks are either unable to breed or are just not fertile with chickens. All natural hybrids were roo over guinea.

Yep! The anatomy just doesn't line up right. However, you can artifically inseminate a hen from a guinea cock if you wanted and know how. I've been playing with the idea. Unfortunately the hybrids don't seem to live very long though.
