Naked Neck/Turken Thread

400

I have noticed that my girlie Mina's neck looks a little bit dry since the weather has turned colder. What can I do for her naked neck?

Hoping you guys can list your favorite things about Naked Necks! Hoping to get 20 chicks sexed for female and 1 male in January. But my mom can't get past the naked neck part

You don't need a list! Every person I've encountered who is weirded out by them is shortly thereafter converted to them. They have a certain charm. ;) just kidding. There are a lot of advantages to having NNs! I'll link you to an interesting article I read recently once I'm on my computer.

I would LOVE to get some 2016 pullets!! (Or, some 2017 hatchlings.) Hubby bought my coop for Christmas. It's BIG 16×32... And I have THREE chickens. Hehe. Room to expand... My rooster is Turken from Mothergoose. They (Turkens) seem to do particularly well in the Texas heat.

I'd love to read the article. :-)

Stumbled upon it a few weeks back, it's in PDF format;

http://www.aviculture-europe.nl/nummers/08e04a04.pdf

Unforunately, they don't cite the source of their information, but most of the agreed upon facts about NNs are there, along with plenty of pics, and some cool historical data.

I believe I googled "Naked Neck Chicken research" and it came up towards the bottom of the page, :)
