Tomorrow my DD will put together her breeding pen for black NN, she plans to use the black rooster in the last pic over as many black Nn hens as we can gather and add some black austolorp to make a full pen

I just finish hatching babies from the Nn blue foot and my red broiler girls... I am hopeful they will grow well.View attachment 1937606 these are the parents. My girl baby is one of my favorites she is the splash in front. The next 2 cockrels are hatched out of baby and my Delaware mix Big Boy. I just got ahold of some Big light brahma hensView attachment 1937618 my 2 main roosters are half brothers both out of a Large white rooster I was gifted several years ago. One is big boy my Delaware cross the other is blue foot my Big Nn boy.
One day I will get both boys to hold still for a weigh in but now I can only guess both are 9 pounds or better.
I have high hopes of maintaining the size and decent egg numbers going forward.
I plan to maintain several different lines, one for green eggs, one for necked necks as well as continuing to work on my Delaware. So many directions so little time

make less direction and more time of you want to breed a good chooks that will last you for ever .
always select a biggest hens if you want to maintain the big size .
for egg laying trait select from the hens that lay early morning usualy they are the best layer .

Just a random picture of my integration brooder after I opened it up yesterday, they are slowly working their way out of it into a general population. There are about 5 or 6 Naked Necks in there but only one clearly in the picture although you can partially see the heads of 2 others.

love the white legs with a white plumage ,great stuff .hate to see white chooks with a darker legs .

For me, I like the contrasting color of the darker leg's against the white feathering, and then throw in the red neck's on top of it and that to me is cool.

those white hen are big type ,solid and strong body type .they progeny will be big for sure .
Black NN rooster has a wide chest ,sign of a meaty bird .good trait .
