Naked Neck/Turken Thread

Cielo oh he is so cute as a baby. If you want feathered NNs you need to cross him with a feather footed breed. PGpoultry uses Brahams and the offspring are gentle giants. Brahmas come in both large fowl (LF) and bantams in case you wanted or come upon a bantam rooster for his sister. But if you want hugh buy pullets because they go broody also. Of course you could use a Sultan or any other breed with feathered feet. Talking about feet, Gobble will certainly grow into his just like puppies do.

There are a few of use here on BYC who are breeding for black skinned, crested NN/EEs who lay green eggs. My flock is new so I am just waiting for my bantam NNs hens who have a big blue silkie rooster to jump on them and give me eggs. I am starting with bantams.

Sorry forgot to explain. These are the three new NN Hens I got yesterday. I also added another pic of Kevin (my NN Rooster). I got one Red hen that was all bare but two feathers off to one side. Then the other Red and the Dark are both pretty full Boeties. Just figured I would get them while I was there. Give them a little while in quarantine then see what happens. Cant waite to start hatching eggs and see what Kevin produces. I just love his colors. Never seen a NN in that color. An old timer told me last summer that he seen a few like that many years ago. But not for a long time. We will see..........

Going to try breeding Buff color Turkens This year.
I have a buff Std size Showgirl and a red Turken roosters over Buff Orpington hens plus one black Turken hen.
Guess we'll see what we get. Really want some Std size Fluffy chickens

Msst likely she's from a Hatchery, look at the tail feathers they look black, and you say the feet are white, well they should be Yellow.
