NewToFarming, thanks for asking, yes she is!
I have a question again for folks: I have a BIG dog crate (St. Bernard size) that I currently have one broody mama and two chicks in. Can I safely put the other broody mama with her 3 chicks in there? ....I was thinking in a couple of days. My plan is then to set up a pen around the dog crate so they can come out and play in the day, but I can secure at night. I've never had two broody's going at the same time. I could also set the one little crate next to the big one so each broody would have her own crate ....I don't know if it would make that much difference to the chickens though.
Yes, I love it! He was on my questionable list, to go or not. I have to watch him, because he likes to peck at my ankles. It seems like he is calming down. He has recently been sweet to the girls, so he can stay for now.
I need more girls for my NN. He is mating (trying) my cochin girl that is with him, a lot! I have tried putting two others girls with him, but he jumps on their backs immediately and looks like he is violently trying to mate them. I didn't know what was going on, so I took them out. I know I need to get more girls in there with him, but don't know how with out them getting hurt?
I guess I need to buy the lone girl a saddle
