Name That Color.

The keet with the reddish Brown head... is probably the ONE Brown keet I hatched for you (was expecting more), if I remember correctly it was dark, so it should be a Hen. The lighter grey-ish keets I sent you are probably Lite Lavenders, the other darker grey-ish keets should be normal Lavenders and Pied Lavenders... (the darkest one might possibly be a normal Lavender and the others could be "teddy bear" Pied Lavenders). As I've mentioned in another post, color shade variances is normal in my hatches, depending on the gene pool the keets hatched from. But yah, get pics, close ups of your keets in question, and head pics if possible, lol.

Maybe this will help you:
(I think this Brown is a male tho, it's kind of light... and I put in a normal Pearl Grey just for comparison).

And here's another pic of 3 different versions of Pied Lavenders, a Pied Lite Lavender and a Coral Blue:

I didn't send you any Brown Pieds or Pied Cinnamons, but just to show you how much variation there are between colors and the male/female plumage, check these keets out... Other than the different shapes of their head markings (which pertains to how Pied they will be as they mature) and only slight color differences in the center stripe on their heads, look how differently they are feathering out. Confusing huh?

Sorry PeepsCA I cant get to them to pin one down for a photo op. So Identification of Which ones are which will have to come after they get their feathers.
I made the cage too big to work with them at all.

(The rest I didn't label all look like regular Pearl Greys to me)

I thought maybe that ONE was the brown one.... VBG. Wow you are good. Unfortunately I dont have a secure place to "handle" the keets until I get them up to the house. There I can crack the brooder inside the coop and if one gets out he would be contained. Right now they are still in moms garage. I am going ahead and move them up to the house this next weekend unless I get waylaid.

thanks again

I would definitely say NOT pearl grey. Pearl greys are mostly dark brown with stripes and different colored grey and brown feathers. Eventually they will have the dark grey with the Pearl polka dot colored feathers. To me, a total novice with regard to color, that looks like lavender....

Did I tell you that was a teddy bear? I can't remember, I've helped a lot with ID'ing keets lately, lol. Teddy bears have one really wide solid stripe on their head with just one thin tan stripe as a border/outline around the broad stripe (unless they are really pied, then they just have a solid thin widow's peak of one color, no tan stripes), and then they also have mottled/blended (not striped) body colors before they feather. Check out the keet pics I posted below to see the head stripe variations I'm trying to describe.

That keet in your pic looks like it's feathering out to be a Brown male to me, BUT it could also be a Cinnamon Hen (possibly Pied, especially if it has white flight feathers and a pure white chest). There's a lot of guessing involved for me when ID'ing Brown male keets and Cinnamon female keets... males are lighter, Hens are darker, which overlaps with those 2 colors... so I have a hard time telling which is which early on. I usually can't tell for sure until I know what sex they are and they've molted to their teenage feathers

Pearl Grey keets feather out a really dark brown at first, then start getting their grey pearl feathers and losing all the brown after their 2nd molt (for a while they have a mixture of both).

I don't understand the term "teddy bear"? Also, lite lavender & lavender; how do you differentiate? What genetic differences between the two (lite lavender & lavender)? Does lite lavender have two diluents, ie, that for lavender & that for brown?
