Is this a Nankin? I got her from a co-worker. Her chickens picked on her all the time. My EE's did the same thing. She now has her own pen. I have some d'Anvers and EE bantams coming in May.She wants some company so bad.
What is on her band? She has yellow legs. and is very light buff, almost faded. Cant see he tail color in very well in the pic. Her leg color tells me she is not a pure nankin. Might be a hatchery bird.
The band has some numbers on it and NC. Her tail feathers are black tipped. I am her third owner. Her first owner put the band on her. I think my co-worker got her from an auction. They go all the time and sell some of their babies and may even pick up a few.
Looks like a black tail buff japanese to me.... her legs look a bit long for a jap but way to short for a nankin. I am almost positive that is a little japanese hen, my son raises them.
Looks like I have 5 cockerels and 1 pullet *sigh*. They are all doing great though and are awesome birds! I have 25 coming in soon from Mary Ann Harley. I'm hoping for lots of girls! We are finishing up the coops tomorrow. I still have 3 birds in my computer room! Crazy I know. I borrowed some parrot cages from my sister. 3 are in a temp coop and run that is inside my big chicken coop and run, if that makes sense. They are doing fantastic and love being outside! The three that are indoors I get out at least once a day. One of them, a cockerel, loves to sit on my shoulder while I'm on the computer. He has a TON of personality! I still need to get a book of the standard so I can know what to look for when I have to start culling birds. That one isn't going anywhere though. I can't keep them all, I know that, but this one I will hold on to even if he's not show quality. I just won't use him as a breeder. From what I've seen online these are all very nice looking birds. If there is something that makes them not show quality, it certainly isn't anything obvious. I will try to post pics of them all again soon.
