That is all great to know! Two cockerels and 3 pullets would be perfect! I have more on order, 25 of them, so that will a lot of fun when they get here.

Are the terms cockerel and pullet used with bantams like they are with standard sized chickens? For some reason I thought I read somewhere that this is not the case. Can't remember. It was before I was interested in bantams.

I have one of the "boys" with two others and they are doing great. The other one that I know is male is in a cage by himself, but next to the last two. I may try combining those 3 and see how they do. Not sure that they will say in those groups, but it would sure be nice for now.

I will take more pics of them soon. Company coming tomorrow!

I just had a pullet broody. I hope she will be again in the spring but I have an incubator set up and ready to go just in case.

Micki I have not heard anything about using pullet, hen, or something else different for banties. I think it is the same. It is the same on the Poultry Show admission forms and hatchery order forms.

New Nankin pics! Same 6 birds as before, same order. This is Bird #1, a cockerel. He has started crowing! The birds are still inside. Not a problem with only 6, although I have had to separate them into groups because the boys are fighting. This one has started to crow...it is so funny! He likes people and will sit on my shoulder when I am on the computer.

Bird #3. Also starting to crow. that makes all 3 of my rose combs cockerels, not that it matters.

Mary Ann Harley votes cockerel on this one too. So do I *sigh*. I really don't mind though, because I have 25 birds ordered from her that should come in late next month, and I need cockerels to chose from for my breeding pens. I am hoping for more girls than boys though!

Bird # 6. They are all very gentle birds. They are in cages indoors (still have to build coops and runs outside!), but they get out for at least 1/2 an hour a day to run around the floor in the computer room. Then I clean cages and mop...lol. We really enjoy having them around.
